Shutdown Your PC At A Desired Future Time

You do not need to install software [even if it’s free] to shutdown your PC at a given specified time. You can do it by setting up a desktop shortcut or by making a .bat file. It doesn’t require any rocket science. Just follow the steps in below given procedures and you will have what you get by installing those software.

Procedure 1 to Shutdown After A Specific Interval
1. Right click on your desktop and choose New > Shortcut
2. In the dialogue box “Type the location of the shortcut”, type in “shutdown –s –t 3600” (without quotes). Here 3600 is the interval in seconds. [60min x 60sec = 3600 = 1 hour]
3. Name your icon

Note: In future you can change the properties by right clicking the icon > properties > change icon.
If you want to abort a shutdown just type in “shutdown –a” in Run command dialogue box. (Obviously without quotes)

If you use –r instead of –s in above command, it will restart your system instead of shutting down.

Procedure 2: Making A Batch File
Making a batch file will ease your work. You will click it, enter the desired time and here you go…

3. column index number
4. range lookup

You can add and edit comments in Microsoft Office Excel by using the keyboard.

To add a comment:

1. Press SHIFT+F2 to insert a comment in the current cell.

2. Type the text of your comment, and then press ESC twice.

To edit a comment:

1. Go to the cell that contains the comment and press SHIFT+F2. The comment opens.

2. Make your changes, and then press ESC twice.

Customizing Your Vista Explorer Send To Menu

If you send your files to a particular folder on regular basis and you want to add a destination folder in "send to" menu; or you have found out that you are having many items in Vista "Send To" Menu and you want to get rid of one of them. You can do it by following simple steps:

1. Copy and paste the below address in the address bar of Windows Explorer:
C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

2. Here you will find the short cuts to the destinations where "Send To" Menu sends the files

3. You can add a destination easily. Right click the folder you want to be added as destination in "Send To" Menu, and select Create a Short Cut.

4. Cut and paste the short cut in the above mentioned destination.

Moreover, if your find that the "Send To" menu is taking too much time to pop up, you can delete some of the short cuts you do not use from this folder. Reducing the number of items here will result in opening the Send To menu faster.
